About products

Grade 440B stainless steel is a high carbon martensitic stainless steel containing good strength, moderate corrosion resistance and ability to obtain and maintain wear resistance and excellent resistance.

9Cr18Mo2 steel is a high-quality stainless steel in China, equivalent to 440B, containing 0.9%
carbon and 18% chromium. Its high hardness, approximately 58-60 HRC, and excellent corrosion
resistance make it an ideal choice for surgical blades, stainless steel knives, and cutlery.

Compared to other blade steels, the high carbon content as well as sufficient additions of chromium,
vanadium, and molybdenum contribute to better edge retention of this steel. In addition to edge retention
and durability, this steel also boasts high corrosion resistance. Common applications include blades,
surgical instruments, cutlery, and various other items.
